Privacy policy

The short version

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or tracking pixels. The only personal information we collect is an email address, and only if you type one into a signup form. We do not sell personal information, and we never have.

What we collect

Your email address, if you give it to us

The signup forms on this site send your address to Klaviyo, the service we use to send our newsletter. We use it to send you product news, recipes and swap tips. That is the whole purpose. We do not use it for anything else and we do not pass it to anyone else.

Ordinary server logs

Like every website, this one is delivered by a host — Render — which keeps routine technical logs. Those include IP addresses, browser type and which pages were requested. They exist so the site can be operated and kept secure. We do not use them for marketing, do not build profiles from them, and do not combine them with anything else.

What we don't do

• No cookies of any kind
• No analytics — no Google Analytics, no alternative
• No advertising or tracking pixels
• No third-party embeds; even our fonts are served from our own domain
• No selling or sharing of personal information
• No profiling and no automated decision-making

If any of that changes — if we add analytics or advertising, for instance — we will update this page before the change goes live, along with whatever notice and consent controls the new tool requires.

Browser storage

One value is stored in your browser: thrave.signup.seen, which records that the newsletter prompt has already been shown so it does not reappear on every visit. It contains no personal information, is never sent anywhere, and is removed if you clear site data for this domain.

How we handle your email address

Klaviyo stores and sends on our behalf, under their agreement with us; they are not free to use your address for their own purposes. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also write to us and we will remove you by hand.

We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We do not keep a separate copy anywhere else.

Links to other sites

Our buy buttons go to Amazon, and our social links go to Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Once you follow one of those, you are on their site under their privacy policy, not ours. We receive nothing back about what you do there — our links carry no tracking parameters and no affiliate tags.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. You may also have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information or of targeted advertising — we do neither, so there is nothing to opt out of.

To exercise any of these, email info@thrave.com. In practice the only thing we are likely to hold is your email address. We will not treat you differently for asking.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS only. No payment information is ever entered here — purchases happen on Amazon, and we never see your card details.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no version buried in a footer somewhere; the date is the whole changelog.
